WHERE IS THE COLLEGE MONEY GOING?

Hello Friends,
Recent research from federal data concludes that 50 public flagship colleges continue to enroll students who are "richer and far whiter" than most in their states, says Kati Haycok, director of the non-profit Education Trust.

The conclusion, which is not a surprise to me but a surprise to many of my families, is that, overall, colleges are less generous to needy families. Yes, that is true. That fact is evident with my needy students.

Twice as much money is given out to families with incomes over $80,000 as those with incomes less than $55,000.

Colleges that did receive good marks for how they disperse money were U of FL, U of Maine, U of Utah and West Virginia University.

A good topic for discussion.

We had a difficult visit at NYU. Although a tour was passing through the library, we were not allowed to enter. We must have looked investigative.

We loved the campus despite Marcel not being allowed in the union.

We loved this campus and the little village. The student union was superb and the students appeared less stressed. The student working in the bookstore was especially eager to share her positive experiences at the college.
