Hello Friends,
In the past students were flocking to colleges in Canada because of the exchange rate.
As of today, 8/13/2010, it is just about even. However, whichever way you look at it, Canadian schools are great deals. I just visited the University of New Brunswick in St. John. Students who love the outdoors this is the place for you. Irving Nature Trail has four miles of hiking trails along the rocky ocean coast and Rockwood park has cross country ski trails, and many other destinations for outdoor adventure. St. John is a bustling city with many restaurants, bars, and friendly people. A very youthful city.
One interesting thing about University of New Brunswick, St. John is that to travel across the campus, many of the passageways are underground; in fact, I would dare to say that you could move around the campus all day without having to traipse across the snow covered walkways.
The campus is very close to the huge Rockwood Park and a short drive to the city. The views from the campus are breathtaking. I noticed many international students on campus in the summer. My theory is if the international students are on campus, the college is an economically sound one as well as academically challenging.
I recommend SJNB for those students who love the outdoors, kayaking, hiking, etc., as part of their academic experience.
Best,
Brenda
