Tips for Parents to Help Teens De-Stress
Parents can help teens avert some senior-year stress by getting college applications
out of the way as early as possible. A good deadline is November 1.
So that means that your summer especially August will be college application month.
Also SAT practice and preparation during the summer will be useful during the October and November SAT Saturdays. Waiting to prepare as you begin your senior year will only add to your stress. Planning during the summer makes the fall a smooooooth season. And a smooth season leads to a successful acceptance season.

"A lot of stress is just, 'Am I gonna get in?' 'Where am I getting in?' [or]
'Oh my gosh, I haven't sent test scores yet,'
The Common Application, which is used by hundreds of universities
is released on August 1. The essay prompts have already been shared.
Focused summer months on productive activities will be the best thing for parents and teenagers alike.
And lastly remember to discuss something other than college planning with your teenager.
Limit your college conversations to once a week for not more than an hour and the rest of the time listen, allow them to vent, and encourage.
